API 600 covers flanged full-bore steel gate valves from NPS 2 to NPS 60 — the standard for larger-bore isolation valves in process piping. API 602 covers compact forged steel gate, globe, and check valves in the NPS 1/2 to NPS 2 range for high-pressure utility and process applications. API 602 valves are socket-weld or threaded end connection, while API 600 valves are flanged.
